Random character generator

There's a lot you can do with your preschooler using this tool to teach them the ABCs. You could:

Alphabet Games

  • Use the letters as flash cards. With each, ask "What letter is this?" You could include numbers as well to make it a little more difficult.
  • With each letter, the child needs to come up with a word that starts with that letter. For example, if the random letter is "D", they should say "dog", "Donald", etc.
  • Practice ABCs order and sorting by generating 2 or 3 random letters and having the kids tell you what order they go in. "Which letter comes first?"

Brainstorming and general inspiration

As a creative exercise, you could generate a couple letters and come up with a word or sentence that includes them. For example, if the 3 letters are "H", "A", "F", a sentence could be "Horses run fast."

Other uses…

There are other generators available like this. You might want something more specific, like actual random words. For something more techincal, there's a random string generator. Also, don't use this for a password, use the random password generator.
